Venus, in that tradition, is the planet of attraction, pleasure and appreciation. Here the astronomy is simple and elegant. Venus orbits between Earth and the sun, so from where we stand it can never wander far from the sun in the sky — at most about 47 to 48 degrees, less than two full signs. This is why you only ever see Venus as a morning or evening star, close to sunrise or sunset.
The consequence for your chart: your Venus sign is either the same as your sun sign or within two signs of it on either side. - Venus in compatible elements (fire with air, earth with water): different styles that traditionally feed each other — one animates, the other grounds.
- Venus contacting the partner's Mars: the tradition's shorthand for chemistry, with Venus describing what charms and Mars describing what pursues.
Venus squares and oppositions between charts are not read as doom, but as taste friction: partners who love sincerely yet keep giving each other the wrong kind of gift. Finding your Venus sign
You cannot know your Venus sign from your birthday alone, because Venus changes signs on its own schedule — usually every three to four weeks, though its retrograde loops can stretch a stay much longer.
